Cast-Iron Skillet Calzone


  • 1 Lb. Ground Turkey
  • 1/4 Cup Onion, Chopped
  • 1 Lb. Pizza Dough
  • 1/2 Cup Pizza Sauce
  • 2 Cups Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded
  • 1 Cup Mushrooms, Sliced
  • 1 Cup Sweet Peppers, Chopped
  • 1/2 Tsp. Dried Oregano
  • 1/2 Tsp. Crushed Red Pepper



  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Place the DuraChef® Non-Stick Cooking Sheet in the skillet. Place skillet over medium heat and cook the ground turkey and onion for about 5 minutes. Drain the fat from the pan and set the mixture aside. Wipe the skillet clean.
  2. On a lightly floured rolling surface, divide the pizza dough in half. Roll one dough portion into a 12" circle and place in the bottom of the skillet. Spread 1/2 cup of the pizza sauce evenly on the dough. Top with the meat mixture, cheese, vegetables, oregano, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Roll the remaining dough portion into a 12" circle. Place the dough over the filling. Pinch the edges of the dough to seal together, Cut slits into the to crust.
  4. Bake for about 25 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes, and then cut and serve.
